VASERlipo ultrasound-assisted liposuction is a procedure that utilizes highly targeted ultrasound waves to eliminate fat in small or large areas of the body. It’s a clinically proven, minimally-invasive alternative to liposuction that is quickly becoming the gold standard for fat removal.
How Does It Work?
The VASERlipo procedure begins with a special saline treatment that numbs and shrinks the blood vessels, which in turn allows the volume of the area to expand. This makes it easier for the doctor to target the fat cells that need to be removed. Using a specialized series of small probes, the doctor uses ultrasound waves to destroy the fat, which is then sucked out using small tubes called VentXⓇ Cannulas.
Why Is This Beneficial?
This is different than traditional liposuction because the ultrasound technology prevents surrounding tissues from being damaged while minimizing bruising and pain following the procedure. In addition, the fat that is removed is preserved, allowing it to be used for autologous fat transfer. This makes VASERlipo® a great choice for those who desire other forms of cosmetic surgery, such as lip implants.
