Brazilian Butt Lift In Las Vegas, Nevada

A rounder and more shapely buttock is a sign of youth and beauty. As we age, the buttocks get smaller, flatter, and begins to droop. A flat buttock, even in a young patient, makes a person look older and less sexually attractive. Conversely, a rounder and fuller buttock even in an older patient, makes the patient look younger and more sexually attractive. While African-Americans tend to have larger buttocks, Asians and Phillipinos tend to have flat, smaller buttocks. Increasingly women and men are desiring larger buttocks and buttock enhancement. Fortunately, there are several ways to enhance buttock appearance, and make them more round, and/or larger.

The Benefits Of Buttock Augmentation

This is a before and after case, where the patient wanted a Brazilian butt and hip augmentation. For this procedure, we transferred fat to the buttocks and hips.

Despite being very thin in her build we were still able to give her a much curvier and sexier hourglass shape result from her procedure.

There are many benefits to buttock augmentation. Larger buttocks can help balance other areas of the figure; for example, large breasts or wide shoulders or hips. Larger buttocks look sexier, and make patients look and feel younger.*

You can see how the buttock appears larger, more lifted and most importantly, round. Many women love the curvier appearance, than a saggy or flat buttock. Patients often feel a Brazilian butt lift is one of the best investments they have ever made.*

In many cultures, larger buttocks tend to look sexier and make patients look younger and feel more attractive. Buttock augmentation procedures from Smith Plastic Surgery Institute can help lift buttocks that droop or are sagging. Following our procedures patients will look and feel more attractive, often leading to more confidence and improved self-esteem.*

Buttock Implants And Brazilian Butt Lift (Fat Transfer To Buttocks)

We can accomplish the enlarging of your buttock with an implant or by fat transfer to the buttocks. Fat transfer to the buttocks is performed by transferring fat from one area and moving it to the buttocks. People often call this a Brazilian Butt Lift. Silicone implants can also be used to enlarge the buttocks, in a fashion similar to breast augmentation. For more information on butt implants, please see the section on buttock implants in this website. Dr. Lane Smith is one of only a very few surgeons that can perform both procedures, buttock implantation, and buttock fat transfer.*

Advantages Of Brazilian Butt Lift Over A Buttock Implant

Buttocks can be enlarged by using either a buttock implant or by using the patient’s own fat, technically called a buttock fat transfer, but most people call it a Brazilian Butt Lift. The procedure involves taking fat from one area and moving it to another area, with the fat being obtained by performing liposuction.

When possible it is better to use the patient’s own fat to enlarge the buttocks vs. a buttock implant. Fat is typically taken from the flanks (“love handles”) and the abdomen, as well as other places as needed. Another advantage is that each area we liposuction to harvest the fat is improved, resulting in the patient’s entire figure improving. This can result in a much sexier look, than just augmenting the buttocks alone.

Disadvantages Of Brazilian Butt Lift Over A Buttock Implant

With a Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, the fat transfer is more variable as compared to a buttock implant.  Sometimes the buttock enlargement is not as large or round as was desired. We can usually correct this situation through additional liposuction and transfer of fat to the area. Another potential challenge is that a patient must have enough fat to transfer to see the changes they are desiring. Brazilian Butt Lift operations typically will not work on very thin patients.*

After A Brazilian Butt Lift Will The Fat Go Away If The Patient Loses Weight?

If the patient loses weight after surgery the simple answer to this question is no. The number and distribution of fat cells are relatively constant throughout life, which means that you don’t gain any fat cells, they simply expand like balloons. Also if you lose weight, you do not lose any fat cells, they simply shrink.

When we move fat cells from one area, such as the waist, and place them in the buttocks, the buttocks will forever be enlarged and the waist will forever be smaller. These proportions will remain no matter what the patient’s weight is. After a Brazilian Butt Lift if a patient gains weight it will go straight to the buttocks, and if the patient loses weight, the last place it will go from is the buttocks.

How Fat Transfer To The Buttocks Is Performed

This procedure is usually done under general anesthesia. Fat transfer to the buttocks is done by first performing liposuction to harvest the fat. (It is helpful to read the section on liposuction located on this website.) We suction fat from the pre-determined areas; usually the flanks (waist) and abdomen, and often other areas such as the upper back, bra-line area or arms, and inner thighs. After the fat has been harvested, we then spin the fat down to get pure fat. The pure fat is then injected into the buttocks through 3 small poke holes; one inside the gluteal crease (“butt crack,”) and one small poke along the lower outer portion of each buttock.

How Much Fat Is Transferred?

Typically we will transfer more fat than needed because only about 1/2 of the injected fat will live. However, we cannot place more fat than the skin will hold. What this means is that as we inject the fat, the skin will become tighter until it becomes so tight that no more fat will fit. When this happens we must stop injecting fat even if the patient is requesting more. Following surgery, we will place the patient in a special compression garment which holds the fat in place. Again, some of the injected fat will die, usually in the first 2 weeks. After about 4 to 6 weeks whatever fat is left remains permanent. The buttock fat transfer from Smith Plastic Surgery Institute will lead to a permanent enlargement of the buttocks.*

What To Expect In Terms Of Pain And Healing

[ap pic=”” align=”right” w=”350″ alt=”Brazilian Butt Lift”]

Following your buttock procedure, the pain is usually quite manageable with the prescribed medications. The pain usually subsides quite quickly after the first few days. After your Brazilian butt lift, it is common that most of the pain is from the liposuctioned areas and not very much from the fat transfer to the buttocks.

What To Expect During Your Recovery

Dr. Smith will outlay your recovery process and typically recommends that his patients not work for at least one week.  Most patients will return to work  7 to 10 days following their procedure. Also, it is important to sleep prone (on your belly) for 3 to 4 weeks after surgery and to avoid sitting on the buttocks as much as possible for the first 2 to 3 weeks. As with every surgery, we do not want the patient to do any heavy exercise for 6 to 8 weeks after surgery. Patients may return to light exercise usually 4 to 5 weeks later.
